An Important Topic
In today’s fast-moving world, young people often face pressure, uncertainty, and challenges that can affect their mental, emotional, physical, and social well-being. The youth exchange Vibe Check was created as a space where participants could slow down, reflect, connect with others, and explore what well-being truly means in everyday life.
Bringing together young people from different countries and backgrounds, the exchange focused on self-growth, resilience, meaningful relationships, and community building. Through non-formal learning methods, reflective discussions, interactive workshops, and collaborative activities, participants explored how different aspects of well-being are deeply interconnected and how personal growth can be supported through healthy habits, supportive environments, and strong social connections.
Exploring Well-Being Beyond the Surface
Throughout the project, participants first explored the different aspects of well-being — mental, emotional, physical, and social — and reflected on how these areas influence their everyday lives, relationships, habits, and personal growth. They examined well-being not simply as the absence of stress or problems, but as an ongoing process shaped by experiences, emotions, environments, and daily choices. The exchange created a safe and supportive environment where young people could openly reflect on their own journeys, share perspectives, and learn from one another.
An important aspect of the exchange was recognizing the role that relationships and communities play in supporting well-being. Participants reflected on how friendships, trust, and supportive environments can positively influence mental health, confidence, and overall quality of life. Through shared experiences, they discovered that personal growth does not necessarily happen in isolation, but often through meaningful interaction with others.
Turning Dialogue into Action
One of the key strengths of Vibe Check was its hands-on approach, where participants were actively involved in shaping the learning process. Across the sessions, young people worked in international groups to explore topics related to wellbeing and everyday life, turning discussions into practical ideas and shared solutions.
Rather than focusing on theory, participants engaged in interactive activities that encouraged them to reflect on real-life situations such as managing stress, improving communication, and supporting peers. By sharing experiences and brainstorming together, they learned directly from one another in a practical and meaningful way.
The cooperative nature of the sessions played a central role in the exchange. Participants constantly exchanged ideas, built on each other’s input, and explored different perspectives, which strengthened teamwork, communication skills, and intercultural understanding while also highlighting how collective thinking can lead to better everyday solutions.
Cultural Evenings and Shared Experiences
An important part of the project were the cultural evenings, where participants introduced their countries through traditional food, music, games, dances, and customs. These evenings created a welcoming atmosphere that encouraged curiosity, openness, and intercultural dialogue. By sharing parts of their own cultures and learning about others, participants strengthened their communication skills, built meaningful friendships, and experienced the value of diversity and mutual understanding.
What We Can Take Home from This
By the end of the exchange, participants left with more than just memories of an international mobility experience. Many said they returned home with greater self-awareness, more confidence, improved communication skills, and new perspectives on personal wellbeing and growth.
Some participants noted that the most valuable part of Vibe Check was the way it helped them step out of their comfort zones and learn from others in a supportive environment. Others highlighted how useful it was to exchange ideas in international groups and see how different people approach similar everyday challenges.
This youth exchange showed that wellbeing is something that can be developed over time through connection, reflection, and shared experiences. In a context where many young people feel isolated or overwhelmed, creating spaces for open exchange and mutual support makes a real difference.

Participants also explored creative ways of expressing their ideas, using flipcharts and visual materials as well as producing short videos. This helped them turn discussions into clear visual group work and find new ways to communicate their thoughts.
